In the latter post, he was responsible for the execution of sales and operations planning in conjunction with the company's commercial, marketing and supply chain management areas to obtain more than $1.2 million in savings by 2012. He was additionally active with Omnilife de Mexico S.A. de C.V. as a consultant on creative solutions and supply chain from 2009 to 2010. In 2011 was hired again by Omnilife de Mexico S.A. de C.V. as a Supply Chain Director for three years up to 2014 to move the both Operations Omnilife has, one in Guadalajara-Mexico and the other in Cali-Colombia, having an excellent Operations Team and great leadership, they moved the Operations as a Global Manufacturing Operations with excellent savings in Cost initiatives at COP (Cost of Production) and COGS (Cost of Goods Sold). Moreover, Mr. Quiros provided his wealth of knowledge to Bardahl de Mexico as a consultant and a creative solutions contractor from 2008 to 2009, a role in which he implemented multiple initiatives that increased productivity by 25 percent.
Prior to these appointments, Mr. Quiros found much success with the Kellogg Company, being the only one Global Manufacturing Director the Company has had until today and had the opportunity to travel all over the world, putting in place every single initiatives to be Global Manufacturing Operations from 2006 to 2007, being Global Manufacturing Director, the Company moved Mr. Quiros to Chicago-IL, garnering extraordinary results as the director of Fruit Snack Plant from 2007 to 2008. Mr. Quiros received from Kellogg Company an early retirement letter in the middle of July 2008 after 22.5 years of service in five different Countries (Colombia/Guatemala/Brazil/Mexico and USA. Mr. Quiros, additionally excelled with the aforementioned company as the global manufacturing director from 2006 to 2008 and the supply chain director of operations for Kellogg de Mexico from 1997 to 2006. Furthermore, he flourished with the Kellogg Company in a number of capacities between 1992 and 1997, including as the director of southern operations in Latin America (Brazil/Argentina/Chile) from 1995 to 1997; the supply chain director for Kellogg Central America from 1992 to 1995. Mr. Quiros, initially began his career contributed to the Kellogg Company through their subsidiary, Kellogg Colombia, as a plant manager from 1989 to 1992 and a production manager from 1987 to 1988.
Mr. Quiros previously served as a plant manager and a maintenance chief for Caucho Eterna, S.A. in Bogota-Colombia from 1982 to 1986. Between 1980 and 1981, he was recruited as a plant engineer chief for Auto Industrial, S.A. He began his career as an installations engineer chief with Alpha y Cometal, S.A. I Bogota-Colombia from 1979 to 1980. Also, Mr. Quiros began to work as a student engineer at Ministerio de Obras in Bogota from 1976 to 1978.
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Quiros pursued an education at the University of Los Andes, completing two semesters of coursework in 1973. He later graduated with a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering at the University of America in Bogota, Colombia, in 1979. Following these accomplishments, he continued his academic efforts through the Operational Asset Effectiveness Initiative with ATKearney Consultants in 1998, a Supply Chain Management Seminar in Saint Louis, Missouri, in 1999 and the Executive Management Program with the University of Phoenix in 2000. Mr. Quiros concluded his studies with coursework in world class manufacturing at the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education in 2004.
Incredibly proud of his involvement with the Kellogg Company, including supporting others from around the world as a result, Mr. Quiros attributes his success to his exemplary education and the influence of his father. Determined to pay for his own education out of obligation to his family, he was eventually recognized among the 11 students to graduate from his class of nearly 190 students. He cites his ability to accrue the lowest cost and best results possible for his productions alongside his colleagues and employees as the highlight of his career, for which he was honored with a multitude of plaques from the Kellogg Company. Looking toward the future, Mr. Quiros hopes to establish a cereal company to support those living in poverty, as well as a car wash and a charitable foundation.
