She works closely to help clients achieve their desired results, even on the tightest of deadlines.Her business developed from a successful career in journalism that began in 1971, Ms. Howard worked in San Juan, Puerto Rico, as a radio newscaster for WHOA Radio Capital, then as a news anchor for CATV Pinpoint Today. Relocating to Ohio, she obtained a position as editor of a local newspaper in Ohio in 1976 before serving as the director of public relations for the Cuyahoga County Mental Health Board in Cleveland. Eventually, Ms. Howard transitioned into marketing, gaining opportunities as the director of special events at University Hospitals of Cleveland and director of communications at University Suburban Health Center in South Euclid, The Victor S. Voinovich Company, and Executive Caterers in Cleveland. Among other roles, she briefly worked in insurance as an agent for All State Insurance between 1997 and 2001 and, early on in her career, became a licensed practical nurse for Huron Road Hospital in Cleveland in 1964 before joining the Peace Corps and serving in Bolivia, South America.
Most currently, Ms. Howard served two years as president of the Writers League of the Villages, in Florida, where she was responsible for establishing the organization as a 501(c)(3) non-profit Other achievements, include graduating as a Registered Nurse at 61-years of age; publishing two books including: "The Angel and the Boatman: An Unusual Love Story" and "The Hidden Pricetag: The Way the World REALLY Works," both in 2019. Additionally, Ms. Howard published a workbook, titled "Memories Today," which includes a series of 15 questions for readers to answer about themselves and life lessons learned for their families to discover, later, and "The Power of One" which reveals 12 powers people have within themselves.
Giving back to her community, Ms. Howard was instrumental in multiple roles. She was notably a chair for the Mentor Ohio Cable TV Commission; founder and editor of the Parish Church Newsletter, president and mentor of the Lake Catholic High School Parents Association, and co-founder of the Ohio Says 'No' to Drugs, Cleveland. She also served as co-founder and steering committee member of the Cleveland Communicates Council. Furthermore, she served as executive director, Special Events, to produce the Cleveland Bicentennial Float in the 1996 Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, CA.
Ms. Howard became a licensed practical nurse through W-E School of Practical Nursing in 1964, shortly before volunteering in the Peace Corps in Bolivia, South America, from 1964 to 1965. She later achieved a Bachelor of Arts in business administration at Lake Erie College in 1985 and later, became a registered nurse through Lakeland Community College in 2005.
Supporting her many years in journalism and public relations, Ms. Howard is a former member of the board of directors and past president of the Public Relations Society of America, Cleveland Chapter; former member of the board of directors of The Press Club of Cleveland. She was also a member of the Cleveland Society of Communicating Arts; and president of Women Executives International, Cleveland Chapter, and former national board member of Women Executives International.
In 1980, Ms. Howard was recognized with a Lighthouse Award from the Public Relations Society of America. She also received a Cleveland Communicators Award from Women in Communications in 1983, a Bronze Quill Award from the International Association of Business Communicators in 1984, and an Excellence in Journalism Award from The Press Club of Cleveland. A celebrated Marquis listee, Ms. Howard has been included in the first edition of Who's Who in the Media and Communications, the 24th edition of Who's Who in the Midwest, and the 17th and 18th editions of Who's Who of American Women.
