CINCINNATI, OH, January 22, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- David W. Allen has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Upon graduating from the Columbus College of Art & Design with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in illustration with a minor in advertising in 1971, Mr. Allen joined Super Food Services as a corporate art director, a role he maintained from 1977 to 1981. Subsequently, he gained valuable expertise in the field as an art director and production manager with Weir McBride Advertising between 1981 and 1984, an art director with Applied Communications from 1981 to 1986 and as vice president and creative director for McNally Communications from 1986 to 1989.
Between the late 1980s and the early 2010s, Mr. Allen worked as owner of Allen & Associates and as vice president and creative director of Jaap-Orr Company. One day, while on his way to the office, an idea came to mind for a disposable paper birdhouse made of biodegradable paperboard. After researching the idea for a period of time, he designed the birdhouse, which began receiving recognition. Due to the product's success, he designed several other "green" products and established Greenbird LLC, where he remains today.
Outside of his work, Mr. Allen aligns himself with several organizations, including Rotary International, the Jaycees and his local Chamber of Commerce. Devoted to his community, he also volunteers with Voice of Hope and the American Cancer Society. In light of his professional excellence, he received the Best of Cincinnati Award for Business and Efforts to Impact the Environment in 2019. In the coming years, Mr. Allen intends to experience the continued success of GreenBird, as well as his freelance work.
