After accompanying his mother to a consultation with her lawyer and the subsequent court proceedings at the age of twelve, with a natural predisposition in business since early childhood, Mr. Skory discovered his passion for the legal profession. Driven to fight for the rights of innocent victims, he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Social Science, cum laude, with a minor in Business Administration and Pre-Law at St. Thomas Aquinas College. Mr. Skory earned a Juris Doctor from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 2010. In 2011, Mr. Skory was admitted to practice law by the Supreme Court of the State of New York and the U.S. Federal District Court for the Southern District of New York.
Prior to founding Skory Law Firm, Mr. Skory spent several years working in International Corporate Due Diligence, International Anti-Money Laundering Due Diligence, Legal and Regulatory Integrity Compliance, and Forensic and Integrity eDiscovery for a tier one international firm where he represented fortune 500 companies on a global scale. Thereafter, Mr. Skory worked as a Litigation Attorney in the Workers' Compensation Department of a top regional New York law firm where he successfully represented injured claimants/plaintiffs.
Driven to remain aware of changes in the field, Mr. Skory aligned himself with the Rockland County Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association. In recognition of his professional achievements, he has been inducted into the Pi Gamma Mu International Honor Society, the Alpha Chi National Honor Society, and the National Dean's List Honor Society. Though his career has been suffused with highlights, he is especially proud to have worked on a factually difficult case that was adjourned for several months because the previous attorney withdrew his representation. During the period of adjournment, the plaintiff (having been injured at work and, thus, unable to continue working) was unable to pay her rent and moved into a shelter. Once Mr. Skory received the case, he reviewed all the facts and law in detail and was able to re-establish the plaintiff's financial benefits with back pay and medical coverage at the first court appearance. At the moment that the judge ruled in the plaintiff's favor, Mr. Skory witnessed a look in his client's eyes that was magical. Mr. Skory's client instantly realized that her suffering had come to an end as she would now be able to get the medical treatment and surgery she deserved to alleviate the physical pain she was enduring coupled with the financial ability to move out of the shelter and return to having her own home.
