BEAUMONT, TX, January 29, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dwight Alexander Peirce Jr. has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Drawing on years of excellence in music, as well as a lifelong love of the art instilled in him by his mother, Mr. Peirce serves as an instructor of keyboard studies at Lamar University, where he has also excelled as a staff accompanist. An expert pianist with the Lamar Choir and the Lamar Opera Theatre, he serves as an accompanist with the Brilliance Concert Series at the Jefferson Theatre, Wesley United Methodist Church, Beaumont Community Players and Temple Emanuel.
Throughout the course of his career, Mr. Peirce has gained valuable expertise as an adjudicator for the Louisiana Music Teachers Association's Toborinsonal/Swawzy Comeptition and as an assistant professor of piano and music appreciation at Howard Payne University. Though his career has been suffused with numerous career highlights, he is most proud to have given his final solo recital in his hometown in 1981 in front of his parents, childhood friends and high school piano teacher. Mr. Peirce also had the privilege to perform at San Pietro in Vincoli in Rome, the Basílica Pontificia de San Miguel in Madrid and San Moise in Venice.
In pursuit of his dream career, Mr. Peirce earned a Bachelor of Music and a Master of Music from the Cincinnati College Conservatory in 1969 and 1972, respectively. Driven to remain aware of ongoing changes in the field, he has aligned himself with the Texas Music Educators Association and remains affiliated with the American Guild of Organists, where he served as the dean of the Beaumont chapter between 1999 and 2008. A devoted community advocate, Mr. Peirce also contributed as a rehearsal pianist with the Beaumont Civic Opera and Beaumont Interfaith Choir.
Due to his professional excellence, Mr. Peirce has won several awards throughout his professional journey, including the Orpheus Award through Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia at Lamar University, a Service Award through Lamar for 30 years of dedication to the school and an Arts Award for Outstanding Achievement through the Southeast Texas Arts Council. Publications such as Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who in American Education have also recognized him for his significant body of work. In the near future, Mr. Peirce intends to continue sharing his love of music to others as an instructor and accompanist.
