    NEWTON, MA, February 01, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Brenda Loew with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Loew celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. An award-winning author, editor and publisher, Ms. Loew has created more than a dozen books in various genres, including adult non-fiction, biographies, screenplays, poetry, and children's books. Writing since the late 1960s, she established her own publishing company, Brush Hill Press, as its sole proprietor in 1982, during which time she wrote and published poetry and gave live readings. Notably, in 1984, this venture evolved into EIDOS Magazine, which published erotic arts, stories about contemporary consenting adult sexuality and alternative sexual lifestyles. Sold in print format until 1999, the magazine attained an international readership. EIDOS received much criticism during the 1980s for its controversial content. However, EIDOS prevailed and is still found online today at www.eidos.org.

Presently, Ms. Loew focuses on her small business, 4 Paws Dog Walking & Pet Sitting, which she established in 1999. 4 Paws serves the Newton, Needham, South Brookline, Chestnut Hill, and Wellesley communities in Massachusetts and offers professional services to pet owners, including feeding, walking, administering medication, and cleanup while owners are away from home. Her company also provides house-sitting services such as security monitoring, watering houseplants and outdoor gardens and mail collecting. Ms. Loew is certified in pet first aid through the American Red Cross and earned a certificate in Animals and Society from University of Colorado Boulder on Coursera in 2020.

Apart from her writing and entrepreneurial commitments, Ms. Loew taught and served as a speech therapist in the Massachusetts public school system. Her diverse background also included service as a recruiter for Newbury College in Brookline, in sales for several community newspapers, as a nursing home consultant in Dartmouth, as a reflexology consultant in West Roxbury and as a co-producer for Newton Talk and Civic Action on NEW TV in Newton.

Well regarded for her literary output, Ms. Loew published her 1973 master's thesis, Bilingualism and Bilingual Education in America: Some Facts and Theories in 2019, Bridget Lewis Survives Child Abuse: A Teenage Girl Moves On in 2018 and You're Not Crazy and Bridget Lewis: Diary Entries of an Underachieving, Overweight 14-Year-Old in 2018. A strong advocate for the Constitution and Bill of Rights, Ms. Loew believes it is crucial to defend our rights, liberties, and freedoms. Her tireless efforts in support of her cause have included numerous speeches, television and radio appearances, debates, and other social engagements. She has served on the Feminists Against Censorship Task Force, has been a member of the Boston Coalition for Freedom of Expression and was a media coordinator for the Emerson College Political Awareness Organization Safer Sex March in Boston. Other civic contributions to Ms. Loew's credit have included service as a board director for the National AIDS Telethon, a volunteer for the Medical Massage Team for the Boston Marathon and a volunteer instructor for the citizen program through the American Red Cross.

A graduate of Boston University, Ms. Loew earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature in 1971, a Master of Arts in Linguistic Science at Brown University in 1973 and completed postgraduate coursework in speech pathology and audiology from 1980 thru 1983. She is a 2000 graduate of Northeastern University's Paralegal Studies program, the Newton Civilian Police Academy and a 2001 graduate of BoJack Academy in Boston. A registered notary public, Ms. Loew became a certified English and Speech Teacher in Massachusetts in the 1970's and holds additional certifications as a manicurist, in animal disaster response, as a reiki master and in paralegal studies.

Ms. Loew is an elected fellow of the World Literacy Academy and an active member of several other organizations in support of her professional writing endeavors, including the National Association Television Arts and Sciences, the National Writers Union and the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. She is presently the president of the New England Vintage Film Society Inc., which she founded. In this capacity, Ms. Loew published Spencer Tracy, A Life in Pictures: Rare, Candid and Original Photos of the Hollywood Legend, His Family and Career in 2012, and Playbills to Photoplays: Stage Performers Who Pioneered the Talkies in 2010 and Spencer Tracy, Fox Film Actor: The Pre-Code Legacy of a Hollywood Legend in 2009. Ms. Loew lectures on classic films and offers classic film screenings to adult populations. With respect to her pet sitting business, she is an active member of the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters, Pet Sitters International and the Newton Massachusetts Animal Response Team.

Celebrated for her personal and professional success, Ms. Loew received numerous accolades and recognitions, including a Patriotic Citizen Award from Veterans of Foreign Wars and a Patriot Award from the Mount Vernon Ladies Association in 2003. She was also appointed as the Massachusetts Goodwill Ambassador by Pet Sitters International in 2003, received a Volunteer of the Year Award at the New TV Red Carpet Awards in 2005 and has been honored with a Best of Newton Award for 4 Paws Dog Walking and Pet Sitting, 2013, 2014 and 2015.
