Driven to pursue a career in service to others, Ms. Priest felt called to the field of psychology. However, she was wary of going down that road due to the length of the schooling involved. For many years, she studied other subjects while raising her young family, but soon found that psychology was her calling. After earning a Bachelor of Arts in psychology through the University of Tulsa, she completed a Master of Science in counseling psychology through Northeastern Oklahoma State University in 1985.
Upon graduating with her master's degree, Ms. Priest began working as a licensed professional counselor and licensed marital and family counselor in an eponymously-named practice, Rosemary Priest LPC, where she remains today. Over the course of 35 years, she has honed her expertise in various counseling matters, including anxiety, depression, marital problems, trauma, grief and loss issues, and work-related problems, among other areas. By combining her expertise and her patients' desires to live happier and healthier lives, she has helped countless patients turn their lives around and live successful lives free from burdens that stand in their way.
To remain aware of changes in the field, Ms. Priest aligns herself with the American Mental Health Counselors Association. Outside of her work, she gives back to her community as a deacon through her local church and a volunteer with a local food bank. In light of her professional achievements, she received the Clinician Award through the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (more widely known as NAMI). Looking forward, Ms. Priest intends to provide tele-therapy services to help as many patients as possible.
