VINCENNES, IN, February 04, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Philip Clayton Grounds has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Driven by a desire to build airplanes, Mr. Grounds pursued a career in engineering, earning an Associate of Science from Vincennes University and a Bachelor of Science in mechanical and electrical engineering from the University of Evansville in Indiana. Despite his desire to work on airplanes, he ended up specializing in building engineering. For more than 30 years, he excelled in the field, working for an architectural engineering and surveying company and as a senior detailer and designer for steel connections used in structures for steel-supported buildings. Additionally, he worked as director of engineering and environmental safety for Vincennes University for 31 years, where he also taught plumbing, refrigeration, electricity and graphic arts, among other course areas.
Throughout his career, Mr. Grounds furthered his education, becoming a registered professional industrial hygienist, earning a certification in hazardous material training, and pursuing graduate studies at Indiana University and Purdue University. To remain abreast of changes in the field, he is a Fellow of the American Society of Forensic Engineers, and aligns himself with the Indiana Society of Professional Engineers, the National Society of Professional Engineers, where he is a lifetime member, the Wabash Valley Electrical Society as a past president, and Phi Theta Kappa. He has also contributed to the First Masonic Lodge of Indiana as a past master.
Outside of his work, Mr. Grounds gives back to his community through various church activities, as well as organizations within the community. In light of his professional and academic expertise, he was honored on several occasions, including obtaining among the highest grades of his class at Vincennes University. Within the next five years, Mr. Grounds intends to experience the continued growth and success of his engineering career.
