Previously, he gained valuable expertise in running and operating a boutique law firm as the Founder and Senior Partner of Universal Law Group. An expert in his field, Shmiddy earned a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the prestigious Regent University School of Law in 2001. Subsequently, he was admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia and in Texas. To remain on top of the continual changes in the legal, entertainment and business industries, Shmiddy maintains membership and involvement with authoritative organizations such as the Recording Academy (the Grammy Awards), Forbes Business Leadership Council, and the Virginia and Texas State Bar Associations.
In light of his achievements, Shmiddy has earned several RIAA Gold and Platinum Awards for professional work he performed on hit records, was mentioned in Dr. Asa Andrews' book "Empowering Your Health," and was inducted into the Pi Gamma Mu International Honor Society in the Social Sciences. He was also nominated and published in the National Dean's List for his undergraduate academic achievements.
