FULTON, NY, February 17, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Linda B. Eagan has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Well regarded for her inimitable accomplishments, Ms. Eagan serves as the administrative director of Fulton Block Builders, which uses a model to incentivize clusters of neighbors to reinvest together. In the first four years of operation, residents managed to invest nearly two million dollars in their properties. With a Bachelor of Arts in social work and criminal justice from Anderson College and a Masters coursework in counseling and psychology from the State University of New York at Oswego, Ms. Eagan began her career as a teen health issues educator at Oswego County BOCES. She also worked as an adolescent family life coordinator for Oswego County Opportunities Inc. and as a compliance program administrator for the Oswego County Health Department.
Prior to embarking upon her professional journey, Ms. Eagan and her family lived in many locations before settling in Fulton, New York, which they came to love and grow passionate for. Over time however, the economic depression incurred a scourge of job loss in the area. Fearing that many people would not see a future in the town moving forward, Ms. Eagan collaborated with many of the locals to brainstorm ways to rebuild. Learning about the Healthy Neighborhood Initiative, which was developed by David Boehlke, they decided to adapt the concept in Fulton.
In her current position, Ms. Eagan manages an annual budget of about $225,000 and oversees fundraising activities throughout the year. She also implements start-up activities for the town, recruits and maintains volunteer staff, and executes grant applications and awards. In recognition of her efforts, Ms. Eagan has received a wealth of accolades from industry organizations and figures. She received the Positive Momentum Award from the Chamber of Commerce, the Chamber of Commerce Community Activism Award, the Zonta Amelia Earhart Women of Achievement Award, the AARP Purpose Prize Fellow Award and the George H. W. Bush Points of Light Award. Most recently, she was presented with the Local Government Achievement Award from the New York State Conference of Mayors.
As a respected voice in her field, Ms. Eagan was invited to present at the New York State Funders Conference in 2019. Throughout the course of her career, she has attributed her standout success to her desire to grant a voice to others. Looking toward the future, Ms. Eagan plans to relocate to a larger building, establish the business as a nonprofit and hire more staff.
