GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA, February 19, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Myron Yanoff, M.D., was born in South Philly (Philadelphia PA) and is a graduate of Central High School. He received both his B.A. and M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania. Formerly, he was the William F. Norris and George E. de Schweinitz Chair of Ophthalmology of the University of Pennsylvania and Director of the Scheie Eye Institute, both in Philadelphia PA. In 1988 he became Chair of Ophthalmology at the Drexel University in Philadelphia PA. He now is Adjunct Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Pennsylvania and Chair Emeritus at Drexel University. He has published over 190 scientific articles and authored/edited 48 textbooks in the field of ophthalmology and ocular pathology. In 1988, he received one of the highest honors in American science − the Senior Distinguished U.S. Scientist Award (Humboldt-Award). Dr. Yanoff still is involved in research and writing. Presently, in addition to revising his textbooks, he is Co-Chief Editor of a weekly on-line-journal. His main interests, aside from writing, are family, art, and traveling.
