A seasoned business professional with 41 years of expertise in the field, Mr. Clifton excelled as Vice President of Engineering and Construction at Coastal/El Paso Corp., a $60b international conglomerate in oil, gas, refining and petrochemicals. During his tenure he developed the famous and very effective "Extreme Engineering & Construction Methodology." © This methodology consistently reduces the time to rebuild plants after a catastrophic fire; often in half the time of conventional techniques, saving millions of dollars. Clifton is considered the expert in exogenous event reconstruction by both industry and the insurance market. Subsequent to retiring from Coastal, he was the President of IMTC for 5 years until he retired again.
Before embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Clifton earned his bachelor degree from the University of Nebraska-Omaha, in 1974. Subsequently he studied "aviation design & crash survivability" at the College of Engineering Sciences at Arizona State University and "aviation safety design" at the Institute of Aerospace Safety & Management at the University of Southern California. Clifton was a captain and aviator in the USA and was a user proponent project manager for the Field Artillery School for nuclear cannon development as well as the 2.5-inch tactical nuclear weapons program as part of a joint task force of the USAF, Northrup Corp. and TRW.
