Mr. Duke is a Certified Public Accountant currently specializing in tax planning and management for small business and high net-worth clients of the firm Alexander Thompson Arnold, PLLC. Gifted in mathematics since childhood, Mr. Duke began to consider a career in finance as he grew, and pursued internships in taxation and accounting while studying at the University of Memphis. He completed a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting in 1998, and was awarded a Master of Arts in taxation in 1999.
Immediately after graduation, Mr. Duke served as a tax manager at BDO Seidman, LLP, where he practiced from 1999 to 2008. Subsequently, he became the tax manager for Joseph Decosimo & Company in 2008. Mr. Duke spent the next three years with Joseph Decosimo & Company, departing to serve as the tax manager at Horne LLP between 2011 and 2013, as well as at CBIZ MHM, LLC, from 2013 to 2018. Since 2018, Mr. Duke has held his current position as the tax manager at Alexander Thompson Arnold PLLC.
Throughout his career, Mr. Duke has committed himself to supporting the professional development and education of the next generation of accounting professionals, spending several years as a mentor for the Memphis Institute of Leadership Education from 2014 to 2018 and as the director of professional development for the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants from 2010 to 2012. Mr. Duke became a Certified Public Accountant through the Tennessee State Board of Accountancy in 2002 and remains a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Mr. Duke attributes his success to his perseverance, his innovative attitude and his desire to help his clients tackle their most complex financial issues.
