Ms. Carlson is a successful and talented legal professional who presently serves as a legal review administrator for the Wyoming Attorney General's Office in Cheyenne. Her expertise formerly included employment with the Wyoming Supreme Court for 25 years, beginning as an assistant state law librarian in 1987 before being promoted to become the state law librarian, where she remained between 1988 and 2012. During an earlier stage of her career, Ms. Carlson worked as a legal editor for lawyers cooperative Publishing co. in Rochester, New York from 1980 until 1983. Ms. Carlson also notably served as interim clerk for the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky in 1987.
A dedicated community advocate, Ms. Carlson has been active with the Girl Scouts of America serving on the Wyoming Council board of directors and acting as its second vice president between 1990 and 1992 and as the first vice president from 1993 until 1996. She later served for the City of Cheyenne on the board of adjustment from 2001 to 2007, acting as the chairperson between 2006 and 2007 and at Saint Paul's Lutheran Church Foundation as its president from 2012 to 2014.
Prior to embarking upon her professional journey, Ms. Carlson studied at The Ohio State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science in 1977. Continuing her academic efforts, she received a Doctor of Jurisprudence at Capital University in 1980, followed by a Master of Art in library and information science at the University of Iowa in 1986. Eminently qualified in her field, Ms. Carlson was admitted to practice law by the Ohio State Bar in 1980.
Ms. Carlson has been active with the Wyoming Library Association as its past president and a former secretary of the academic and special libraries section. She is also a past president of the Western Pacific Association of Law Libraries and a member of the American Association of Law Libraries, where she served on the Executive Board and has been active on numerous committees.
Recognized for her numerous accomplishments, Ms. Carlson was bestowed with several plaques for her professional services. As a law student, she was also the recipient of an Am.Jur. Book Award. A celebrated Marquis listee, Ms. Carlson has been featured in approximately 60 editions of Who's Who, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Law and Who's Who in the World.
