Drawing on three decades of expertise in education, Mr. Seaton, who is aligned with Creative Connections Arts Academy (CCNA), is a music teacher for grades seven through 12 and a music director for the junior high school and high school band. Located in North Highlands, California, the CCNA is a K-12 public charter school of the Twin Rivers Unified School District that focuses on arts integration and the visual and performing arts. Having distinguished himself in this position since 2010, Mr. Seaton is the former music director of the Rio Linda Junior High School and the Rio Tierra Junior High School at the Academy in Sacramento, California.
Outside of his primary career endeavors, Mr. Seaton is also the music director and conductor for the Rancho Cordova River City Concert Band. Aligned with the community band since 2003, he is the former committee chairperson of its committee that hosted the 37th annual Association of Concert Bands (ACB) in Rancho Cordova. Mr. Seaton is also a board director and committee member for the ACB.
Discovering a love for music at the age of five, Mr. Seaton learned to play piano from his grandmother. A very influential mentor in his young life, she taught music to elementary school aged children by day and played the organ for silent movies at the local movie house by night. As Mr. Seaton became older, he joined the band of his junior high school and then high school, where he was fortunate to be surrounded by excellent band teachers and directors. After graduating, he studied at California State University, Northridge, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in music in 1990. He also attained a Master of Science in arts and letters through the American Band College at Southern Oregon University in 1998. He obtained a professional clear credential and a California state teaching credential in 1990.
Throughout his career, Mr. Seaton was fortunate to work with Michael Levine and the Dallas Brass in 1999 for the Nutcracker Project. Other noteworthy accomplishments to his credit have included attending various musical conferences and meeting such Walt Disney Imagineers as Marty Sklar, Tony Dori and Kathy Magnum. A celebrated Marquis listee, Mr. Seaton has been cited in the 60th edition of Who's Who in America.
