Having retired after more than four decades of excellence in financial restructuring, financial services, and public and business finance, Mr. Brickler previously distinguished himself as a talented attorney on behalf of several prominent law firms in the Midwest. Concluding his successful career as a partner at Spencer, Fane, Britt and Browne LLP in 2016, a large law firm with offices throughout the U.S. that provides legal counsel in multiple practice areas and industries, he notably led the firm's municipal finance practice during his decade-long tenure. Mr. Brickler has also worked extensively on behalf of public school districts, nonprofits and public libraries, as well various manufacturing companies, with respect to plant and equipment tax exemptions throughout his legal career.
Prior to joining Spencer, Fane, Britt and Browne LLP, Mr. Brickler found success as a partner at Blackwell, Sanders, Peper, Martin LLP in Saint Louis for five years, until 2003, and was an associate and partner at Peper, Martin, Jensen, Maichel, and Hetlage for 25 years, until 1998. Mr. Brickler also chaired the Concordia Public House in Saint Louis from 1998 to 2001, has served on the Green Park Lutheran School since 2006, and currently serves on the board of Feed My People.
To contribute on behalf of the community at large, Mr. Brickler began serving on the board of directors of the Lutheran Family and Children's Services of Missouri in Saint Louis in 1988, a position he maintained for five years. He also contributed for one year as the vice chairperson from 1988 to 1989. Dedicated to making a lasting impact in the present, Mr. Mr. Brickler has maintained involvement on the board of directors of the Green Park Lutheran School, where he also lent his expertise as the chairperson between 2006 and 2008.
After acquiring a Bachelor of Arts and a Doctor of Jurisprudence at Washington University in 1966 and 1968, respectively, Mr. Brickler served to the rank of a captain in the Judge Advocate General Corps of the U.S. Army between 1969 and 1973. He has been admitted to practice law by the Missouri Bar Association, the Supreme Court of the United States, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. Supporting his professional legal endeavors, Mr. Brickler has been an active member of the American Bar Association, the National Association of Bond Lawyers and the Bar Association of Metropolitan Saint Louis.
