Specializing in employee benefits, employment law and labor law, he represents employees, labor unions, pension funds, health funds and accident victims, as well as other employee benefit plans. Mr. Soldon also counsels clients in work and non-work related injury cases.
Becoming interested in labor law while working full-time in a union steel foundry while in college, Mr. Soldon recognized the importance of assisting both unions and their workers and realized that he wanted to specialize in this particular area to better support them. Regarded as an expert in his field, he worked diligently to promote job security, fair wages and safe working conditions that he believes are extremely important. Additionally, Mr. Soldon has flourished as a frequent speaker at numerous seminars, as well as a contributing editor of How Arbitration Works and The Developing Labor Law.
Aside from his primary work at his law office, Mr. Soldon has taught courses at Marquette University as a faculty member for the Certificate in Labor Relations program. He has also provided his expertise as an instructor in the School for Workers at the University of Wisconsin. Mr. Soldon was additionally active in his community as an Executive Board member of the Wisconsin State Fair Park from 2004 to 2009.
Mr. Soldon earned an undergraduate degree at Marquette University in Milwaukee in 1975, followed by a law degree with honors at Northwestern University in Chicago in 1978. He has been admitted to practice law in Wisconsin and Iowa. Mr. Soldon has litigated cases before the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Fifth, Sixth, Seventh, Eighth, Tenth and D.C. Circuits, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin and Michigan, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Iowa and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Mr. Soldon has been selected for inclusion in several professional legal publications highlighting his achievements, including as a Super Lawyer annually since 2005; as one of the Best Lawyers in America annually since 1995; as an AV-Rated Preeminent Attorney by Martindale-Hubbell for over 20 years; as a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers; and twice named as the Labor and Employment Lawyer of the Year.
