WASHINGTON, DC, March 15, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jenny Town has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Having been born in Korea and adopted into an American family, Ms. Town has always sought to learn more about her country of birth, even before realizing that she could build a successful career from her interests. In pursuing a formal education, she received a Bachelor of Arts in East Asian studies and international relations from Westmar University and a Master of International Affairs from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs. Following this accomplishment, Ms. Town began her career in Korea policy, focusing on North Korea, US-DPRK and US-ROK relations, and East Asian regional security.
In 2010, Ms. Town co-founded 38 North, an internationally renowned web journal that provides policy and technical analysis on North Korea, while still serving as the Assistant Director of the US-Korea Institute at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). The project was moved over to the Henry L. Stimson Center in 2018 where she now serves as a Senior Fellow and the Director of the 38 North Program. She is also an expert reviewer for Freedom House's Freedom in the World Index, where she previously worked on the Human Rights in North Korea Project, an associate fellow at the Foreign Policy Institute at the SAIS, a member of the National Committee on North Korea and an associate member of the Council of Korean Americans.
For her indelible efforts, Ms. Town was recognized by Fast Company as one of the Most Creative People in Business in 2019. She was also named among Worth Magazine's "Groundbreakers 2020: 50 Women Changing the World." Ms. Town has attributed her professional success to hard work and perseverance and believes her varied career path has allowed her to build skills that have allowed her to do extraordinary work within her field.
