Inspired to practice law from a young age, Ms. O'Neal earned a Bachelor of Science from Middle Tennessee State University in 2009. She subsequently obtained a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Memphis' Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law in 2018. Upon her graduation, Ms. O'Neal accepted a position at her father's firm, the Law Office of Darrell J. O'Neal, as an associate attorney.
In her present post, Ms. O'Neal focuses on a wide range of legal matters, including discrimination law, personal injury, breach of contract, wills, corporate law, regulations law, entertainment law, labor and employment law and administrative law. Further, she is expanding upon her father's current practice and represent people in the fields of personal injury law, civil rights matters, medical malpractice, wills and contracts, worker's compensation and social security matters. Ms. O'Neal has been admitted to practice law by the Tennessee Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
Ms. O'Neal was affiliated in law school with the Association for Women Attorneys, Law Students, and the Leo H. Bearman, Sr. American Inns of Court, through which she was a pupil member. She also found success with the Benjamin L. Hooks chapter of the Black Law Students Association, where she was appointed as an executive secretary. Additionally, Ms. O'Neal served as the Associate Chief Justice of the Memphis Law Moot Court Board.
As a testament to her accomplishments in her budding career, Ms. O'Neal has already experienced numerous career highlights. In addition to accepting the Dean's Distinguished Pro Bono Award from the Public Action Law Society, she was also presented with the Joe A. Moore Excellence in Advocacy Award and was twice awarded the Judge D'Army Bailey Memorial Scholarship from the Ben F. Jones Chapter of the National Bar Association. Likewise, she was selected for inclusion in the American Bar Association's Top 10 Oral Advocate List her third year of law school. In the coming years, O'Neal intends to become a partner at the firm, develop more than one niche in her practice and help expand the firm.
