Mr. Yeosock is a talented and tenured civil engineer who is presently the Principal Engineer for the Department of Transportation, Mobility, and Parking for the City of Norwalk, Connecticut. Promoted to this position in 2021, he formerly spent two and a half decades with the City of Norwalk's Department of Public Works. Hired in 1989 as an assistant civil engineer, he rose to become the senior engineer between 1994 and 2015 and the assistant principal engineer for another three years. In 2019, he transferred to the newly formed Department of Transportation, Mobility, and Parking to be its first assistant director. Mr. Yeosock also worked in the private industry as a project manager for M.J. Pasonick Jr. Inc. from 1986 to 1989. Additionally, he served for a year as a supervisor at the Jan Fabian Funeral Chapel between 1990 and 1991.
A longtime employee of the City of Norwalk, Mr. Yeosock has also enjoyed the opportunity to contribute to the Norwalk community in his spare time. He has served on the board of directors for Norwalk Tree Alliance, whose mission is to promote and protect the urban forest throughout the city. Mr. Yeosock also served in the same capacity on behalf of the Friends of Norwalk River Valley Trail, another nonprofit organization that is working to build and maintain a lengthy, multi-use trail from Calf Pasture Beach in Norwalk to Danbury, Connecticut.
Highly educated, Mr. Yeosock received a Bachelor of Science at West Virginia University in 1984, followed by a diploma in mortuary science at the New England Institute in 1985. Returning to college, he earned a Master of Science in environmental engineering at the University of New Haven in 1994, a Master of Science in civil engineering at Mississippi State University in 2014, a Master of Science in legal studies at West Virginia University in 2017 and a Master of Science in construction engineering management and another in mining engineering management at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in 2018. Likewise, Mr. Yeosock was bestowed with a Master of Science in space resources from the Colorado School of Mines in 2020. Eminently qualified in his field, he is a certified professional engineer, diplomate-water resources engineer, geographic information system professional, an Envision sustainability professional and a Greenroads sustainable transportation professional.
Throughout the course of his impressive career in the industry, Mr. Yeosock gained invaluable insight and expertise as a member of multiple different professional organizations, both nationally and internationally. Some of these have included the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the National Society of Professional Engineers, the American Water Resources Association, the American Rock Mechanics Association, the Society of Mining Engineers and the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy, and Petroleum.
