DENVER, CO, March 16, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present George MacGregor with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. MacGregor celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. MacGregor began his long and exemplary career in banking and finance in the mid-1960's. Quickly ascending the corporate ladder, he found success as the president of the fourth largest bank in the city of Dallas by the age of 36. At the age of 37 he became the president and chief executive officer of Mountain Banks in Colorado, the state's third largest multi-bank holding company. He also served as the president and chief executive officer of the Royal Dominion Bank Holding Company and Banco Inc. Prior to his semi-retirement in 1991, Mr. MacGregor served as the senior managing partner for the Scotland Company in both Denver and London.
Though he was initially tempted to work in the insurance and oil and gas fields, Mr. MacGregor decided to pursue a career in banking and finance, two fields in which he was able to excel in for most of his professional life. To prepare for his career, he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance at the University of Texas. Upon his graduation, Mr. MacGregor completed his military service in the Medical Corps of the U.S. Army, during which time he was stationed at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas.
Retiring at the age of 55, Mr. MacGregor has since developed a passion for writing. Freelancing over the past 30 years, he also penned numerous short stories and eventually found an editor to write more substantial books, including a 2012 novel titled "…So There" and a 2013 short story book titled "Story Time." Appointed as an honorary member of the American Institute of Banking, he has been additionally affiliated with the Young Presidents Organization and Phi Gamma Delta.
