Drawing inspiration from his parents' unconditional support and love and his pastor, Reverend Dr. Eugene James Menefee, Dr. James felt compelled to contribute to his local community. In this capacity, he found success as a social studies teacher and the principal of Ware County High School and Waycross High School. Presently, Dr. James serves as the chancellor of Emmanuel's Bible College, a bishop at Emmanuel's International Cathedral, a professor of sociology at Coastal Pines Technical College and the mayor of the City of Waycross.
Prior to embarking upon his professional journey, Dr. James studied extensively, and first sought a formal education at Troy University, from which he received a Bachelor of Science in education. Following this accomplishment, he attended Valdosta State University, where he earned a Master of Education, and the Truth Bible College, where he obtained a Doctor of Christian Education. Throughout the length of his studies, Dr. James became a Life Member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated.
As a respected voice in his field, Dr. James has authored several books, including "Trust in God to Supply Your Needs," "Leader, Can You Stand the Test," and "Just Because God Said It: A Journal of Prophetic Predictions and Pronouncements." He has also worked in various positions with District 14 Toastmasters International. For his efforts over the years, he received the Jack Williams Community Service Award from the Waycross Chamber of Commerce. Likewise, Dr. James was presented with the Distinguished Toastmaster Award, the Distinguished Kiwanian Award, the Ted Harris Human and Spiritual Values Award from the Kiwanis Club of Waycross, and the Georgia Man of the Year from the Partnership Courage Collaboration, among others.
Dr. James is most proud to have contributed as a faith leader, administrator, and educator throughout his accomplished career. In this capacity, he is gratified to have seen others grow and overcome to become the best versions of themselves. He has also been grateful to see his students become leaders in the community after leaving his classroom. In accounting for his standout success, Dr. James credits his propensity for determination, discipline and dedication.
