Drawing upon more than a decade of experience in the field of radiology, Ms. Nabhan is recognized for her contributions as a clinical instructor of medical radiography at San Jacinto College. Having joined the faculty staff in 2019, she primarily teaches students on behalf of the school at Houston Methodist Hospital, for which she has worked as a radiology technologist since 2015. Throughout the course of her duties at the hospital, Ms. Nabhan has often provided instruction to students from the MD Anderson Cancer Center, San Jacinto College and Houston Community College, which inspired her to become an educator in a more official capacity.
Prior to her work with San Jacinto College, Ms. Nabhan pursued an education at Midwestern State University, from which she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and psychology in 2008. Faced with a lack of opportunities in her field, she enlisted in the U.S. Army soon thereafter, serving as a radiology specialist in Iraq between 2008 and 2013. Crediting the military for much of her early professional development, she obtained an Associate of Science in radiography from the U.S. Army Medical Center and School, a Master of Arts in clinical mental health counseling from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and a certification in computed tomography from Houston Community College. Eminently qualified in her field, Ms. Nabhan further flourished as an instructor in such complex subjects as fluoroscopy, C-arm procedure in an operating room setting and the usage of mobile radiology equipment with combat field units.
In a career filled with highlights, Ms. Nabhan is incredibly proud to have accrued numerous accolades for her service in the armed forces, including an Iraq Campaign Medal with two stars, a National Defense Service Medal, a Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, an Overseas Service Ribbon and a Certificate of Achievement, among many others. Outside of her vocational and military accomplishments, she was also gratified to place fifth in a statewide art competition. Esteemed for her creative endeavors, Ms. Nabhan also notably designed an Iraq War deployment coin during her tour of duty.
A devoted volunteer within her local community, Ms. Nabhan donates to those in need through such charitable organizations as the Salvation Army and Goodwill. She credits her wealth of support and encouragement of her family. Looking toward the future, Ms. Nabhan aspires to continue excelling in her current profession, attend nursing school and become a nurse practitioner.
