During his 47-year tenure in law, Mr. Holloway also garnered exceptional trial and appellate experience, and served as a mediator and arbitrator for many cases.
Regularly involved with various civic, educational and non-profit causes, Mr. Holloway found success as the president of the Danvers Historical Society, the president and director of the Topsfield Athletic Association, a three-term elected member of the Masconomet Regional School committee and a founding member and president of Hospice of the North Shore. He has also served as a member of the standing committee on pro bono legal services for the Supreme Judicial Court, a trial advisor on behalf of Harvard University's trial advocacy program and a judge for numerous moot court arguments at Boston University. The founder and volunteer for the Essex County Superior Court's conciliation program, Mr. Holloway has been provided his wealth of knowledge as a panelist for various continuing legal education programs.
An exceptional writer, Mr. Holloway has contributed his expertise in various legal journals. He was appointed on the board of editors of the Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly. Apart from his written works, He was invited as a keynote speaker on behalf of the Lynn Bar Association for its "Practicing with Professionalism" course. A former high school English teacher, Mr. Holloway flourished as a feature writer for the Post Newspaper of the U.S. Army in Fort Knox, Kentucky and a copywriter for Life magazine in New York City.
Mr. Holloway initially earned a Bachelor of Art in English literature at Amherst College. He subsequently graduated with a law degree at Boston University in 1973. Mr. Holloway has been admitted to practice law before the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, the Supreme Court of the United States and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.
Affiliated with several significant professional organization in relation to his career, he is a member and past president of the Essex County Bar Association and the Massachusetts Bar Association. Mr. Holloway is also a member of the executive committee for Amherst College Alumni.
In recognition of his achievements, Mr. Holloway was presented with a Community Service Award from the Massachusetts Bar Association in 1993. He has also been honored as a Super Lawyer by Boston Magazine and a New England Super Lawyer. Likewise, Mr. Holloway has been recognized as an AV-Rated Preeminent Attorney by Martindale-Hubbell.
