WEST GROVE, PA, March 30, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Anna Bellenger has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Ms. Bellenger is unable to remember a time in her life when she has not been painting. Many things were difficult for her growing up due to her dyslexia. Art clicked for her and she has since flourished in the field with mirror-vision block printing, which was a breeze.
For many years, Ms. Bellenger considered herself to be a printmaker and mixed media artist. However, a friend introduced her to Turner's way of using rabbit skin glue on paper for watercolor; she added a few ideas and made the concept into her own style. Instead of loose, flowing watercolors, her work is tight knit and detailed. Over the years, Ms. Bellenger has had the honor of having her work exhibited in a plethora of galleries, including Hardcastle Gallery, where her piece "Night Stalker" remains on display.
An expert in her field, Ms. Bellenger earned an Associate of Arts from Southern Seminary Junior College which is now known as Southern Virginia University where she was lucky to have Cy Twombly for a teacher. In order to remain aware of changes in the field, she aligns herself with The Howard Pyle Studio (where she is treasurer), The Diamond State Pen Women, and she is a signature member of The American Watercolor Society, Philadelphia Watercolor Society, Pennsylvania Watercolor Society and the Delaware Watercolor Society.
Due to her outstanding body of work, Ms. Bellenger has been honored many times, having been accepted into the American Watercolor Society's 150th International Show in 2017, winning The Bud & Gretch Marble Medal. Additionally, she received an honorable mention in the 2012 Pennsylvania Watercolor Society's International Show. Ms. Bellenger further attained Best in Show at the 2017 Delaware Watercolor Society's Show at The Biggs Museum.
In regards to her mixed media work, Ms. Bellenger was recognized with First Prize at the 2011 Philadelphia Watercolor Society's member's show. Two years later, she obtained The Founder's Award from the aforementioned society's international show as well. More recently, she was celebrated with First Placement at the National Penn Women's Biennial Show in Washington, DC. An avid animal lover, she also participated in the Westminster Dog Show for many years, winning the category Best of Breed for Norwich Terriers in 1997. She was featured in the book "Artists of the Brandywine Valley" by Catherine Quillman and "Speaking for Themselves, The Artists of South Eastern Pennsylvania" by Daphne Landis. Ms. Bellenger illustrated a children's book in 2019, "Knick-Knack," by Celia Murray. She painted the illustrations in her book "Outside In" with poems by Carol Hixon. Ms. Bellenger also self-published a book named "Anna's Animals: and is working on a children's counting book (Sky High) to come out this fall (2021). She is featured in an international magazine "Art Ideal – 2020." Also in 2020 she has a one-woman show at the Chester County Art Association, opening the night of March 11 and sadly closing three days later due to Covid-19, but it could be seen on line for the next few months. Looking toward the future, Ms. Bellenger intends to experience continued praise for her art.
