Mr. Hale studied Economics for 2 years at Northwestern University prior to completing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business, Communications, and Economics from San Diego State University. He became a Chartered Life Underwriter® in 2002 via The American College. He is a graduate of Columbus (Ohio) East High School.
Before transitioning into insurance planning and financial services, Mr. Hale spent several years with the United Parcel Service based in Columbus, Ohio, first as an Industrial Engineer and then as a Revenue Auditor. He became an Independent Contractor in 1985. Since 2011, Mr. Hale has also served as an Ambassador for New York Life's $50 Billion African American Empowerment Plan, in addition to his direct service for clients.
For much of his life, Mr. Hale has taken an active role in community service, outreach, and leadership. He served as a founding member of the National Rainbow Coalition, an Ambassador for the American Heart and Stroke Association, as well as membership in the Young Black Leadership Forum of Columbus, Ohio, the 29th District Citizen's Caucus, The Kings Men, Greater Linden Business Network, Kiwanis International, NAACP, Diversity Compliance Coalition of Ohio, and the YMCA Black Achievers. Mr. Hale is currently serving as the General Chairman of The Thursday Club.
Mr. Hale is the Author of the book Get Free for Free, and has served as a Columnist for the Columbus & Dayton African American Journal. He has served on the National Association of Life Underwriters Political Action Committee, and the New York Life Political Action Committee. He was an inductee into the Jump 25 Basketball Hall of Fame, the Columbus Business Hall of Fame, and the recipient of the 2020 Best of Columbus Award for the Insurance Agents, Brokers and Service Category. When not managing his business and community commitments, Mr. Hale's hobbies include reading, writing, yoga, karate, basketball, jazz music, and transcendental meditation.
