Dr. Crum is a Royal College board certified psychiatrist in private practice in Brooklyn, New York, celebrating more than five decades of outstanding practice in psychotherapy, neuropsychiatry and forensic psychiatry. He holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Redlands, was awarded his Doctor of Medicine by Harvard University, and completed his education with a Master of Science from New York University. Dr. Crum completed a medical internship at the Bellevue Hospital Center in New York, with additional residencies in psychiatry at the Columbia University Psychiatric Institute and the Creedmoor Psychiatric Center.
Dr. Crum has contributed to numerous scientific papers and professional journal articles, and is the author of two books, "The 10-Step Method of Stress Relief: Decoding the Meaning and Significance of Stress" in 2000 and "Glutathione Synthesis: Unraveling the Pleiotropic Paradox and its Vital Immune Roles." He is chair of the Albert Schweitzer Humanitarian Award Selection Committee and the Human Behavior Foundation, and has previously served on the board of directors of the Burdick International Ancestry Library and the New York University College of Dentistry Board of Advisors. Dr. Crum has been an advisor to the Office of Tibet since 1984, and counts among his greatest accomplishments his work as co-chair of the United States Coordinating Commission for the Nomination of His Holiness the Dalai Lama of Tibet for the Nobel Peace Prize.
In recognition of his outstanding record of practice and social contributions, Dr. Crum has been named Brooklyn's Citizen of the Year and presented with an honorary Doctor of Science from the University Redlands, the Pope John XXIII Gold Medal, and the DSA Award from the Brooklyn Junior Chamber of Commerce and the New York University College of Dentistry achievement as a Clinical Professor of Behavioral Science. Dr. Crum is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, the American Board of Forensic Sciences, and the National Board of Medical Examiners, among many other organizations. He is also an Eagle Scout and a member of Mensa International Limited, where he has held national-level organizational leadership positions. He is also a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
