As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Long driven to show that he was talented in the arts, Mr. Stokes was notably selected for the DeKalb County Honors Chorus while he was in the third grade. Having begun taking violin lessons in middle school, he later sang in numerous local talent competitions in high school and college. In 2013, he was a semi-finalist in a gospel competition called Immerse. Following this accomplishment, Mr. Stokes established Serving the Peace, a faith-based entertainment company, alongside his father.
Presently, in addition to writing his own music, Mr. Stokes performs under the stage name PTtheGospelSpitter. He released his debut project, "Raise Up" in 2014. In 2020, he served as a producer and voice actor in the animated film, "Praise the Maker," for which he also wrote and performed the title soundtrack single. More recently, Mr. Stokes released a new single in January 2021. Since its release, the film has been part of a continuous film festival tour and won five prestigious awards.
Mr. Stokes' single for the movie reached number one on the Internet BDS Gospel Radio Charts for six weeks, number 85 on the Top 200 Global Artist Airplay and number nine on the Top 150 Global Independent Artist Charts. In addition, the movie was an official selection for the Diorama Film Bazaar and a semi-finalist at the London International Motion Picture Awards (LIMPA). Mr. Stokes' latest single, "SfTK", reached number one on Internet BDS Gospel Radio Charts for ten weeks. The first Internet BDS Christian Hip Hop Radio Charts were launched March 2021 and "SfTK" christened the chart as the original number one.
For his talents, Mr. Stokes was named as the New Urban Hip Hop Artist of the Year by the Independent Artists Christian Music Association and received the Audience Choice Award for "Salvation RMX" at the Gwinnett Center International Film Festival. He has also had articles written about his accolades in Forbes India, The Source, Vents Magazine, Music Lov3rz Magazine, AnRFactory, RedXMagazine, YoloDaily, NYKDaily and TechKrest. Looking toward the future, Mr. Stokes plans to build Serving the Peace into a multi-million-dollar company as a leader in faith-based films and music. He would also like to work toward becoming a Grammy award-winning artist and an Oscar winning film director.
