Having garnered a laudable reputation as a general practice attorney over the course of more than 40 years, Mr. Arden retired from his position as a sole practitioner in Anchorage, Alaska, in 2019. Beginning his career in the field as an assistant law librarian for the San Francisco Law Library in 1969, he later worked as a law clerk and bailiff for the Alaska Court Systems in Anchorage, spent several years as a law editor for Shepard's Inc., and was a research assistant for the Law Office of B.R. Edwards. In 1983, Mr. Arden went into private practice for the first time and, after more than 10 years, became an associate for Steven, Pradell & Associates from 1994 to 2000. Ultimately, he returned to private practice and maintained his own boutique firm for nearly 20 years. Apart for his work at the office, Mr. Arden devoted five years to the Alaska Bar Rag as a contributing author.
From 1983 until 1995, Mr. Arden supported the Abbott Loop Christian School in Anchorage as a board member and vice chairperson. Likewise, he maintained involvement with the Abbott Loop Community Church as a board member and the Crisis Pregnancy Center Inc. in Anchorage as a treasurer. Mr. Arden subsequently excelled as an administrator on behalf of Skyline Foursquare Church from 2006 to 2012, and is currently active with Bereka Church as a board member.
A native of Germany, Mr. Arden moved to the United States in 1952 as a young child. After graduating from high school, he served as an officer in the U.S. Navy between 1964 and 1969 and was notably an ensign in the U.S. Naval Reserve in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969. Mr. Arden completed a Bachelor of Arts in 1969 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1973 at San Francisco State University. He has been admitted to practice law by the California and Alaska Bar Associations.
