Dr. Alexander is a board certified physician in family medicine, obstetrics and gynecology who has practiced medicine for more than three decades. Affiliated with the Richland Hospital Inc. between 2011 and 2020, she also worked for the Mayo Health Systems in Wisconsin from 2002 to 2011. Presently, Dr. Alexander is affiliated with Cedarburg Family Wellness in Cedarburg, Wisconsin. She also was a longtime staff surgeon of obstetrics-gynecology at Columbia and Saint Joseph Hospitals in Milwaukee and is a clinical instructor at Marquette University in Milwaukee. Her practice is notably centered on providing various types of individualized health care that promotes integrated therapies. Dr. Alexander has, to date, delivered over 9,000 babies.
Dr. Alexander began her career in health care as a Volunteer, CNA, LPN and then a critical care unit RN. Dr. Alexander went on to become a Family Practice and ER Physician before doing a residency and Fellowship in OB/GYN. During her residency in OB/GYN, she became a Clinical Instructor at Michigan State University in Lansing, Michigan. Following her OB/GYN residency, she developed a Women's Health Program at Columbia Hospital and became a Clinical Instructor at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As a Physician, she also had the opportunity to practice medicine and teach through the Women's Medical International, People to People in Russia, Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania.
For nearly 20 years, Dr. Alexander has contributed by participating in mission work in both Tanzania and Honduras. She was recently recognized on 11112/2020 in Mwanza, Tanzania, East Africa, after they dedicated the Hospital and Medical Center in her honor for her tireless efforts in serving their community and initiating the project. Dr. Alexander has also been a longtime volunteer instructor of CPR through the American Red Cross in Milwaukee since 1991. She also is on the Advisory Panel for the Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics program through the American Academy of Family Practice which is responsible for teaching Nurses, Physicians, EMT's and other Health Care Providers.
An alumnus of Wayne State University, Dr. Alexander completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1971 and a Doctor of Medicine in 1979. Incidentally, she was President of her graduating class. After completing residencies in Family Practice and Obstetrics-Gynecology, she became Board Certified in Obesity Medicine. Eminently qualified, Dr. Alexander has maintained board certification in all three areas of medicine and recently received a Laser and Aesthetic Certifications in 2019.
Dr. Alexander is an elected fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists. Moreover, she maintained her affiliation with the American Medical Association, and the Wisconsin Medical Society, as well as, many other Professional Organizations. She has also been recognized with a Jefferson Award for Community Service, Mayo Health System's Awards for Patient Satisfaction, Wisconsin Champion for Women's Health Award and a five-time Patience Choice Award for her work with patients.
