Currently designated as a professor emeritus of physics, Dr. Kozhevnikov retired from academia in 2017 after more than 40 years in education and research. A pioneer in his field, he specialized in the study of superconductivity, phase transitions and critical phenomena, thermodynamics, and bulk and surface properties of conducting and semiconducting simple and complex fluids. Although he is no longer active in a full-time capacity, Dr. Kozhevnikov continues to make an impact in the field as he continually investigates the phenomenon of superconductivity.
A native of Russia, Dr. Kozhevnikov began his career as a junior researcher at Moscow Aviation Institute in 1973, from which he would eventually depart as a leading researcher and professor in 1996 after a near 20-year tenure. Relocating to the U.S., he subsequently worked for the University of Utah as an experimental physicist and educator in the department of physics. Dr. Kozhevnikov later excelled at the Tulsa Community College until his retirement in 2017.
Over the course of his renowned professional career, Dr. Kozhevnikov served as a visiting professor and scholar at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium as well as a visiting researcher at Kurchatov Institute of Atomic Energy in Moscow. He notably contributed his research to numerous scholarly articles published in national and international journals. Furthermore, Dr. Kozhevnikov authored two books and was recruited as a reviewer for several scientific journals. His most recent book titled "Thermodynamics of Magnetizing Materials and Superconductors" was published by CRC Press, Taylor & Francis Group in 2019.
After initially obtaining his undergraduate degree, Dr. Kozhevnikov graduated with a master's degree from Gorky University in 1971. He subsequently earned a Doctor of Philosophy from Moscow Aviation Institute in 1977 and Doctor of Science from Kurchatov Institute of Atomic Energy in 1990. Dr. Kozhevnikov has also been a respected member of the American Chemical Society, the American Physical Society and the Moscow Physical Society.
In 1996, Dr. Kozhevnikov was presented with the Kurchatov Prize of the Russian Research Center at Kurchatov Institute. He was later recognized with a fellowship from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science in 1997. A celebrated Marquis listee, Dr. Kozhevnikov has been featured in multiple editions of Who's Who in America and Who's Who in Science and Engineering in addition to the 17th edition of Who's Who in the World.
