ALLENTOWN, PA, April 19, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jessica Elliott has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
From an early age, Ms. Elliott has wanted to help others. In eighth grade, she was recruited to a program called The Spirit of Bethlehem, through which she would take monthly service trips. During a trip to a local soup kitchen, Ms. Elliott spoke with a homeless man who taught her about harmful assumptions that people often make based on appearances, which inspired her to pursue a career that would enable her to aid those in need.
Initially earning a Bachelor of Arts in human rights from Lafayette College, Ms. Elliott worked in the non-profit sector for 10 years. She currently excels as the executive director of Habitat for Humanity of Lehigh Valley. In her current position, Ms. Elliott provides administrative support for all standing committees and the board of directors while managing operations, a staff of 25, a repair program and a $1.7 million budget.
For her exceptional efforts over the years, Ms. Elliott was presented with the Louise M. Olmsted Prize in Ethics from Lafayette College and the Excellence in Business Award from the Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce. In 2021 she was named a "Woman to Watch" by Lehigh Valley Business. She maintains her affiliation with the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Lehigh Valley Regional Housing Advisory Board. She has also attributed her professional success to her passion for her work. Looking toward the future, Ms. Elliott hopes to continue in her successful endeavors, as she has already reached her goal of becoming an executive director.
