After earning a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and a master's degree in public health administration from Eastern Michigan University, Ms. Salman began working as an analyst. In her work place, she was forced to wear dresses or skirts, so she developed a comfortable undergarment and obtained her patent – Intimate Freedom. During this period, Ms. Salman served as a caretaker for her son, Larry, who had special needs due to a head injury, and her mother, who was diagnosed with cancer.
When her caregiving duties became too overwhelming, Ms. Salman left her job and stayed home to take care of them, whereupon she realized that her expertise could be leveraged on behalf of others. In 1997, she established Special Needs Incorporated, where she remains active as the senior case manager and chief executive officer. As the head of the organization, Ms. Salman makes it her mission to positively impact the lives of those that have been injured. Alongside her work with the organization, she founded Immanuel Home Help Care Agency LLC.
An expert in her field, Ms. Salman aligns herself with the National Association for Women Business Owners and remains dedicated to those less fortunate by donating to various charitable organizations through her church. Within the next five years, she intends to help others realize their goals and find their purpose. Likewise, Ms. Salman hopes to establish another business.
