Alfrednett Kendrick-Atkinson Honored for Her Business Acumen

Alfrednett Kendrick-Atkinson, the community-minded business owner of Holiday Sales, LLC, has built an accomplished and impactful career on a lifelong love for people, her ability to connect with them, and a strong desire to see them grow and stay healthy.

Growing up in Mississippi, Ms. Kendrick-Atkinson was inspired by her family, particularly the women on her mother's side, all of whom were business entrepreneurs and able to make a good living on their own—which she greatly admired. While in high school, she took part in homemaking and made designer outfits for various companies. Upon graduation, she earned a degree in business education with a minor in administration from Jackson State University in 1973. It was while in her studies that she became health- and wellness-conscious for the first time, understanding the benefits of daily multi-vitamins—which would help shape her eventual successful career.

Ms. Kendrick-Atkinson's professional path began with a series of jobs at Johari Modeling Academy, Total Constructions Specialist, LLC, and Munches Restaurant. While employed with a phone company, there was an opportunity for her to leave and pursue her own business dreams and open a boutique with a beauty shop—she took it and it remains the best decision she ever made. As the owner of Holiday Sales, LLC for 20 years now, and a health and wellness advocate with Grace and Mary Care Taking, she sells multi-vitamins, minerals, hand sanitizers, provides health and wellness services, and hair products, animal products, nutrients, minerals, and even healthy coffee. Through her work, she also represents such wellness organizations as Change for the Future Outcome and Melaleuca.

In addition to her primary responsibilities, Ms. Kendrick-Atkinson also contributes in community outreach with local churches and nonprofit organizations, such as United Church Ministry and Collis Hill Church of Christ Holiness, where she works with children to help them in school, church, their personal lives, and professional pursuits. She has volunteered her services to many other groups, including the Jackson Chamber of Commerce, Luv N Care Adult Daycare, and the Salvation Army and Goodwill. She often provides pick-up and delivery services for senior citizens and supplies gifts to underprivileged children. Her longtime motto has been, "There are no big I's and little you's—we must do as much as we can to help one another."

Co-host of the "Solutions Radio Talk Show," Ms. Kendrick-Atknson is also a contributing writer for Spotlight News Magazine, the National Library of Poetry, and the International Library of Poetry. As a testament to her dedicated work, she has been recognized with numerous accolades, such as a Certificate from the Arbor Day Foundation in 2020, a Community Award from the Forestry Commission in 2019, among several other certificates and awards for self-improvement, appreciation, donations, development, and etiquette. She was officially inducted into both the National Library of Poetry and International Library of Poetry, and has been a longtime member of the Better Business Bureau.

Believing in always being an advocate for others, and doing the best she can for herself, Ms. Kendrick-Atkinson encourages future generations to never quit or give up and continue moving forward because "before you know it, good things will begin to happen for you…Choose something in the arena you love doing, then it won't feel like work." She hopes to be remembered as someone who was admired by people and beloved by her husband, Nelson, the owner of a barber shop with whom she combined her business.
