MONTGOMERY, AL, April 22, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Roger E. Shepherd has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected based on current reference value. Inspired to becoming involved in ministry at a young age, Dr. Shepherd began as an evangelist and missionary for the Church of Christ in the early 1970s. For more than 50 years, he dedicated himself to the Church of Christ while also working in ministry in local churches for more than 30 years and as an evangelist in America and many foreign countries. In 1980, he also began directed preacher training workshops titled "Future Preachers' Training Camp," which he has overseen several times since then. Backed by his calling from God, he excels today as a Bible professor with the Turner School of Theology at Amridge University. In his dual roles, he teaches online classes, conducts missions within the United States and participates in various fundraisers to benefit American churches.
Throughout his career, Dr. Shepherd has experienced many a career highlight. In addition to pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in New Testament studies, which he will finish in May of 2021, he has helped build churches in Africa. Over the course of 15 years, he was able to bring more than 100 people per year to faith in Christ. While in West Africa, he spent a considerable amount of time teaching through the World Bible School.
Drawing upon 50 years of experience, Dr. Shepherd has also authored and co-authored six books: "Praise God, We Won: A Vision of Victory from Jesus Christ in the Revelation," "Missions: Rekindling the Fire," "The Lamb and the Dragon," "Church Growth and Membership Development in a Contemporary World: Relational Personal Teaching," "Church Growth and Membership Involvement in Contemporary Community" and "Jesus is Alive!", which he wrote with his 8-year-old grandson, Jacob.
An expert in his field, Dr. Shepherd holds a Bachelor of Arts in Bible and ministry from International Bible College, a Master of Arts in theology and New Testament studies from Lipscomb University, and a Doctor of Missiology from Fuller Theological Seminary. Outside of his work, he maintains professional alignment with the Evangelical Theological Society. Going forward, Dr. Shepherd intends to continue writing, focusing, specifically on his short-term missions. Currently, he is working on a book, titled "The Last World Kingdom," which he hopes to publish soon.
