CORAL GABLES, FL, April 27, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to honor Edwin Earl McAmis with inclusion in Who's Who in the World. An accomplished listee, Edwin Earl McAmis celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
While attending high school, Mr. McAmis excelled in debate contests and, in college, thrilled at participating in intense discussions, which piqued his interest for verbal sparring. At the advice of his friend, Catherine Ann Cook, he applied at Harvard College and received a Bachelor of Arts in politics and history, as well as a Bachelor of Laws from the prestigious Harvard Law School. Eminently qualified in his field, Mr. McAmis was admitted to practice law in the state of New York, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second and Third Circuits, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Throughout the course of his career, Mr. McAmis held several associate positions at various firms. He also served as partner at Lovejoy, Wasson, Lundgren & Ashton, and at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP. He was also an adjunct professor of law at Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, and served on numerous committees on professional ethics, commercial litigation, and mergers and acquisitions. Well regarded for his inimitable expertise, Mr. McAmis has been most grateful for the integrity of other lawyers, both colleagues and adversaries. Most notably, he served as the attorney for the Financial General against Metzger in the District Court of Washington, D.C.
As an active member of his community, Mr. McAmis was an organizer for the YES Institute. He was also active with Lambda Legal, the Aston Magna Music Festival and the Community Research Initiative of New York. Over the years, he has attributed his professional success to hard work and a knack for anticipating and countering adversary's arguments. Mr. McAmis has also been grateful for the influence of senior lawyers throughout his career, who encouraged him to litigate cases instead of negotiating business contracts.
