At the tender age of 7, Marvin began his career as a musician. The Rochester, New York native comes from a very musical family. He started playing alto and tenor saxophone as a kid. Before reaching his teens, Marvin's passion for music and entertainment was rapidly growing as he was exposed to unforgettable live performances by legendary artists. From the moment he saw James Brown and The Jacksons live on stage, although he was just a child, he knew music was going to be his life.
By the time he was 11, the budding artist decided to broaden his musical horizons and ventured into playing keyboards, guitar and drums. Building a reputation as a serious musician while in high school, Marvin served as jazz ensemble leader and ran the school's marching band. Steadily pursuing his quest for proficiency and professionalism in music, Marvin enrolled at Monroe College where he acquired a degree in music theory and composition.
To further enhance his educational and professional skills, Marvin enrolled in U.C.L.A.'s Entertainment Studies Program in the fall of 1997. This program is designed to prepare music entertainment professionals to work as Administrators, CEO's, A & R Executives, Producers, Publishers, Manager and Songwriters.
After completing the U.C.L.A. Entertainment Studies Program Marvin took an unpaid intern position in A&R/Marketing at Giant Records in the summer of 1999. Marvin says, "The experience gave me a great look at the whole record company start-up to release process," something he cherished having the opportunity to have done.
This inspired him to take his experience to another level as he recorded and produced his debut album titled "For Sure," which he released on Amazon.com in 2001 demonstrating his multi-talents. In the fall of 2003 Marvin launched The Original Kings of Hip Hop Tour! which featured Hip-Hop/Rap Icons such as Kurtis Blow, The Sugar Hill Gang, Afrika Bam Bata, UTFO, Mc Lite, Whodini, and Dana Dane to name a few. The tour covered most of the northeast and was a major success, says the young entrepreneur. He also stated the experience alone was worth its weight in gold.
Armed with an extensive background as a singer/songwriter, producer and concert promoter Marvin Miller formed Freestyle Records Inc. in 2010. The young entrepreneur has been on both sides of the fence; therefore, he understands what goes on from an artist's perspective as well as how it feels to be a producer. His multi-talents are demonstrated on Freestyle Records Inc. artist "West Coast Wyn" debut single "Turnt Up" which was released on the "2013 Still Smokin" compilation CD featuring West Coast rap legends Snopp Dogg, E40, Too$hort and Mack 10, just to name a few. This was followed by the release of West Coast Wyn's debut album 2K Ballin distributed by SCM Distribution/Freestyle Records Inc.
MULAN V, a rapper, singer/songwriter and actress, is the princess of Freestyle Records Inc. The young beautiful 5'9" phenomenal statuette is a talented performer and the founder of "MULAN V BEAUTY.COM".
