Inspired by her mother, who was a lifelong educator, Ms. Harris began her career as a part-time teacher with Fairfax County Public Schools' head start program in 2001. She subsequently gained valuable professional expertise as the director of Fairfax County RecPac, a co-teacher with Little Mouse Playhouse and a client relations associate with Sands Capital Management. With years of experience to her credit, Ms. Harris currently excels as the president and chief executive officer of Little Ambassadors' Academy Inc.
Since 2010, Ms. Harris has emphasized the importance of education through discovery with Little Ambassadors' Academy. By providing a safe and creative environment in which to learn, her students reach for greater and greater heights on both an intellectual and moral level. As the head of the aforementioned organization, she fosters well-rounded students through language, music, art and science programs. Even though her career has been filled with highlights, Ms. Harris is incredibly proud of establishing Little Ambassadors' Academy from scratch and watching it grow into what it is today.
Before embarking on her professional journey, Ms. Harris earned a Bachelor of Science in finance from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and a Master of Education in early childhood education and teaching from Towson University. She additionally obtained a certificate in early childhood development from Northern Virginia Community College. In order to remain aware of ongoing changes in the field, Ms. Harris has been affiliated with the National Association of the Education of Young Children and the Council for Professional Recognition.
Outside of her primary responsibilities, Ms. Harris serves on the board of the Dominion Condominium Association, the board of directors for the Lee Highway Alliance, is an active member in her sorority Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and serves on Arlington County's Fiscal Affairs Advisory Commission. In recognition of her professional achievements, she has been honored several times, having been presented with a Best Preschool Award in 2016, 2019 and 2020. Looking toward the future, Ms. Harris intends to experience the continued growth and success of her career.
