This opportunity later opened the door to his position as a Recreation Director for the Prince George's County Department of Parks and Recreation. Mr. Plevins notably obtained a bachelor's degree in journalism and public relations with a minor in government from the University of Maryland.
A large amount of professional athletes came from Prince George's County, Maryland. Sugar Ray Leonard received a Gold Medal at 1976 Olympics in Montreal. Other athletes include Adrian Dantley and Len Bias. ESPN did a special on large amount of athletes in Prince George's County.
