CONCORD, MA, May 04, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present John Moses Osepchuk, PhD, with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Osepchuk celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Having earned distinction as a full spectrum consultant and microwave heating and microwave safety consultant since 1995, Dr. Osepchuk is based in Concord, Massachusetts. His accomplished career in engineering, which has spanned for more than seven decades, began in 1950 with Raytheon in Waltham, Massachusetts, after acquiring his master's degree. Hired as a development engineer in the power tube division, he excelled over the next four decades, during which time he was promoted to become a liaison engineer in the microwave and power tube division, and the principal research engineer in the research division. Briefly departing from the organization to work for Sage Laboratories in Natick, Massachusetts, as its chief microwave engineer, Dr. Osepchuk later returned to Raytheon in 1995, where he spent another 20 years as a consultant scientist in Lexington, Massachusetts.
In addition to his consulting business, Dr. Osepchuk has remained active as a member of the accredited standards committee C95 of the American National Standards Institute in New York since 1968. The nonprofit organization focuses on improving the competitiveness of business throughout the U.S., while also improving voluntary consensus standards, among other goals. A dedicated community advocate, Dr. Osepchuk has long been a member of the Republican town committee in Concord since 1974. Likewise, he also served as a clerk and trustee at Park Street Church in Boston.
Writing extensively as a result of his research, Dr. Osepchuk has disseminated much of his findings in the form of over 80 scholarly journal articles, and as the editor of "Biological Effects of Electromagnetic Radiation," a book published in 1983. Moreover, he has notably acquired approximately 50 patents in the industrial business. Of all of them, Dr. Osepchuk noted the patents of the magnetron to be his most significant work, which had a considerable impact on the market at large.
Finding great mentorship in his boss at Raytheon, and from several other professionals, Dr. Osepchuk is grateful for his many accomplishments in the field. However, he credits much of his success to his father, an immigrant from Ukraine who immigrated to the U.S. in 1913 shortly before the First World War. Born in Peabody, Massachusetts, Dr. Osepchuk served in the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1946. Shortly thereafter, he received a Bachelor of Arts, a Master of Arts and a Doctor of Philosophy in engineering at the prestigious Harvard University in 1949, 1950 and 1957, respectively.
Supported by several pertinent organizations, Dr. Osepchuk is an elected fellow and past president of the International Microwave Power Institute. He is also an elected fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE,) where he has served on several committees, including the standards coordinator committee as its chairperson. Dr. Osepchuk is a member of the Microwave Society of the IEEE, an advisor to the board of directors of the Electromagnetic Energy Police Alliance, and a member of the American Science Affiliation and the Bioelectromagnetics Society. Additionally, he remains a member of the honorable societies of Phi Beta Kappa and Sigma Xi.
