ASHEVILLE, NC, May 05, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Allen Nichol, Pharm.D, FAPhA, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. While coming of age, Dr. Nichol initially found success while working at a pharmacy owned by his family. Driven to remain active in this profession, he earned a Bachelor of Science in pharmacy from Ohio Northern University in 1974 and gained valuable expertise in the field. Throughout the course of his career, he went on to receive a Doctor of Pharmacy from Nova Southeastern University of the Health Sciences in 1993.
Dr. Nichol served as President of both the Dade County (Miami, FL) Pharmacy Association on multiple occasions as well as every officer position in the Florida Pharmacy Association, culminating as president 1988-1989.
From 1995 to 1997, he was the CEO of the New Jersey Pharmacy Association, where he helped offer congregational legislation to identify pharmacists as health care providers, which is still pending. He also requested a groundbreaking opinion from the FTC; it was agreed to that pharmacists could collectively bargain for their clinical services compensation because clinical service compensation is at risk for being paid.
Dr. Nichol joined the Grandview Family Medical Practice in Columbus, Ohio as the clinical pharmacist between 1998 and 2009, Concurrently Dr. Nichol served as a clinical pharmacist with the organization and joined the Ohio State University's College of Pharmacy as an adjunct clinical faculty member for more than 20 years.
Supported by decades of professional excellence, Dr. Nichol excels today as the chief operating officer and vice president of clinical services for CeutiCare, which combines patient data, clinical practice guidelines, a drug database and evidence-based algorithms regarding patient medication to improve outcomes for those with chronic illnesses. In his dual roles, he oversees medication therapy management and works with patients and team members to modify patient behaviors. In addition to his work with CeutiCare, Dr. Nichol serves as the president of Expert Pharm Witness, an entity that provides expert opinions on cases of medical malpractice in both plaintiff and defense instances.
In order to remain aware of ongoing changes in the field, Mr. Nichol aligns himself with the American Pharmacists and the Ohio Pharmacists Association's Disease Management Task Force. In conjunction with his work in the field, he contributes as the president of the local and state pharmacy associations. An industry visionary, he has been recognized several times, earning Florida's First Dupont-Pharma Innovative Practice Award in 1993, an Ohio Innovative Practice Award in 2010, a Distinguished Achievement Award in Community Service and Ambulatory Practice through the American Pharmacist Association in 2012, as well as the Daniel B. Smith Award in 2014 from APhA, and the Preceptor of the Year Award from The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy in 2020. Though his career has been suffused with highlights, he is most proud to have been the founding faculty member for the Nova Southeastern University's College of Pharmacy. He also was the architect of having created the first government approved payment for pharmacist clinical services at the Ohio Department of Health, the Bureau for Children with Medical Handicaps. The department utilized the Medication Management Codes established by the AMA. The compensation rates were then cloned by the Minnesota Medicaid program after consultation with him. In 1997, he was named one of the 50 most influential persons in the profession of pharmacy by American Druggist magazine.
