SAUNDERSTOWN, RI, May 05, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Alison J. Carr has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
From a young age, Ms. Carr wanted to become a teacher, as she always enjoyed working with children. She subsequently earned a Bachelor of Science in elementary education and a Master of Arts in educational leadership from Rhode Island College. Ms. Carr eventually began her career as the executive director of the Literacy Volunteers of Rhode Island before working as a sixth-grade teacher at the Overbrook Academy.
Ms. Carr currently excels as the chief administrator at the Kingston Hill Academy. In her current position, she utilizes a collaborative approach to distributive leadership by empowering all others around her to become leaders themselves. Furthermore, she is responsible for implementing the school board's vision in her daily decisions regarding educational programs and spending. Ms. Carr also hires, supervises and manages central staff and administrators at the Kingston Hill Academy.
Over the years, Ms. Carr has been incredibly proud to be able to shape the minds and hearts of all students, as many of her former students remain in touch with her long after they graduate and begin their careers. Moreover, she is active with the Sandra Bornstein Holocaust Education Center and the Rhode Island League of Charter Schools. Ms. Carr maintains her professional affiliation with the Rhode Island Association of School Principals.
For her exceptional efforts over the years, Ms. Carr obtained the 1920 Educator Leader Award from the Commissioner from the Rhode Island Department of Education. She was also honored as the District Teacher of the Year, and she has accepted citations from the Rhode Island Senate and General Assembly and former Governor Lincoln Chafee. Most recently, her school was recognized with the National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence Award from the U.S. Department of Education. Throughout her career, she has attributed her professional success to her perseverance and determination. Looking toward the future, Ms. Carr plans to pursue a doctorate degree in her field.
