KUTZTOWN, PA, May 10, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Raghav Khanna, PhD, has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. While coming of age, Dr. Khanna drew from the inspiration of his early educators, and the educators in his family, whom he resolved to emulate as he embarked on his own career path. Dr. Khanna has long developed an interest in making an impact on society. Having received a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and Doctor of Philosophy in electrical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, he subsequently became a visiting assistant professor at Bucknell University, which is a premium liberal arts university. Presently, Dr. Khanna serves as the director of the energy-engineering program at the University of Toledo. He was drawn toward professorship because he wanted to make a difference in the lives of students, while promoting a greener and healthier environment through research and teaching.
As a dedicated professional, Dr. Khanna has conducted extensive research on green energy technologies, including integration of renewable assets such as solar and wind power, electric vehicle technology, as well as maritime and aerospace systems. His research facilitates integration and coordination of various distributed energy resources and has been sponsored by the US Department of Energy, US Department of Defense, and NASA. He also teaches various undergraduate and graduate courses related to electric power and energy.
Throughout his career, Dr. Khanna is most proud to have had his energy-engineering program ranked as number 69 in the United States by the U.S. News in 2020. This ranking was a positive achievement for the entire university faculty, staff, students and the community. In addition, Dr. Khanna was grateful to receive the 20 under 40 Award from the City of Toledo – an honor bestowed on community leaders who are highly engaged in both their profession and volunteer work. He was also named The Engineer of the Year by The Toledo Professional Chapter of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Most of all, Dr. Khanna cherishes the ability to make a difference in the lives of his graduate and undergraduate students, and watching them make an impact on society through their acquired knowledge and skills.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Dr. Khanna has been active with Big Brother Big Sister Foundation Inc., Keep it Real, YMCA, Engineers Without Borders, and IEEE. He has attributed his professional success to having exemplary mentors over the years. Looking toward the future, Dr. Khanna plans to become more involved in public service and would eventually like to start a family.
