A seasoned financial expert with nearly 30 years of experience, Mr. Shaw excels today as the managing member of Shaw Business Valuation & Litigation Support, where he specializes in expert witness testimony, business valuations, income tax analysis, financial and forensic analysis, mergers and acquisitions, and bankruptcy matters. Since 1992, he has worked with clients in such industries as finance, construction, wholesale distribution and a variety of other industries.
Prior to obtaining his current role, Mr. Shaw served as the regional manager of business valuation and litigation support for McGladrey & Pullen and Clifton Gunderson, and as a tax director for McGladrey where he gained invaluable experience within his field of expertise.
Mr. Shaw received his Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from the University of Northern Iowa and prior to his graduation sat for and passed all four parts of the Certified Public Accountancy Exam to earn his CPA designation. Mr. Shaw since has furthered his education and accreditations in the fields of Business Valuations and Forensic Accounting by earning his ABV, ASA, CBA, CVA, MAFF, BVAL and ABAR designations.
In order to remain "current" in the business valuation & litigation support field, Mr. Shaw aligns himself with the American Society of Appraisers, the National Academy of Certified Valuation Analysts and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. In conjunction with his work in the field, he has contributed to his community as a volunteer with Tanager Place and Boy Scouts of America. Though his career has been suffused with highlights, he is most proud to have served as an expert witness in federal and state courts in seven different states and has provided expert witness testimony more than 150 times. Additionally, he has defended his valuation work before the Internal Revenue Service. Looking toward the future, Mr. Shaw intends to continue growing within his specialized industry and adding to his staff.
