Mr. Zweig initially pursued an education at Touro College in Queens, New York, from which he obtained a Bachelor of Science in finance, summa cum laude, in 2008. At Touro, he was a member of Sigma Beta Delta, an honors society for business, management and administration. Continuing his education at the Fordham University School of Law in the Bronx, New York, Mr. Zweig earned a Juris Doctor in 2012. While at Fordham, he garnered a place on the Dean's List and was a staff member of the Environmental Law Review, a journal exploring a broad range of domestic and international environmental issues.
Beginning his law career in 2011 in New York, Mr. Zweig initially interned at Newoak Capital LLC, where he drafted documents and reviewed private placement memoranda for a boutique investment bank and financial consulting firm, and assisted in the asset valuation team in support of securities litigation. He thereafter excelled as a corporate counsel at AZ Operator LLC from 2012 to 2019, for which he negotiated operations transfer agreements, lease extensions and insurance policies, as well as implemented and oversaw healthcare compliance programs. As corporate counsel at Cypress Operating LLC, Mr. Zweig performed the aforementioned duties and coordinated regulatory, liability and employment matters with outside counsel.
Mr. Zweig further improved upon his law credentials at Sheeley LLP in 2019, where he was an associate in the firm's medical malpractice defense litigation group. In this position, he conducted all aspects of case management from inception to trial, and managed an independent caseload, gaining invaluable experience in legal research and drafting, conducting depositions, case valuation and settlements.
In 2019, Mr. Zweig became a founding partner of The Zweig Law Firm P.C. in Woodmere and has guided the firm in its civil litigation and appellate law practice in New York and New Jersey. He has provided counsel to a wide array of clients in diverse fields, with expertise in a broad range of personal injury matters and corporate legal concerns. The firm's emphasis is on personal injury, civil litigation, and appellate law. In 2020, he was recognized as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers, a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.
Mr. Zweig entered the legal profession because he considers it to be a service industry, and he wished to aid people in his personal life who were pursuing business opportunities that involved legal counsel. He additionally wanted to contribute to his community. His most notable achievement was helping to negotiate settlements and resolutions of a number of high stake litigation of matters involving extensive liability.
