Mr. Duckworth began his career in 1998 as a fitness specialist for Health Quest, Chevron Products Company. Over the next several years, he held various diverse positions in shipping and receiving, fitness and inventory control. In 2005, he was hired by Johnson Controls Automotive Inc., an automotive engineering company specializing in automotive and systems engineering, as a supply chain analyst. After providing three years of oversight for the development and maintenance of policies and procedures to material operations of the plant for three years, Mr. Duckworth was involved in a serious accident that left him unconscious and in the hospital for several weeks. Though he was unable to return to work, he decided to attend college once again to pursue a degree in physical education so that he could eventually teach and establish a strength and conditioning program for a variety of sports.
In 2010, Mr. Duckworth began serving as a substitute teacher for both the Tuscaloosa County Schools and Fayette County Schools in Alabama and, in 2011, taught physical education at Memphis City Schools. He briefly worked as a biological range technician for Mount Hebron Helicopters Forestry Services from 2012 until 2013 and a materials analyst for Yanfeng Global Automotive Interiors during 2013. Hoping to return to education, Mr. Duckworth aspired to acquire a full-time position as a physical education educator.
A graduate of Auburn University, Mr. Duckworth earned a Bachelor of Science in health promotion in 1998. He later earned a second Bachelor of Science in physical education at the University of Alabama in 2010. Eminently qualified in his profession, he was a certified teacher in the state of Alabama. He lived every day for his daughter. He was born on April 20, 1976 and passed away on August 5, 2016 at the age of 40.
