NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA, May 12, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Amanda Barudin-Carreiro has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Driven to make a difference in the lives of others, Dr. Barudin-Carreiro pursued a career as a counselor. After earning a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Western New England College and a Master of Arts in clinical and counseling psychology from William Paterson University of New Jersey, she began in the field as a clinician and later went on to become a clinical supervisor with South Bay Mental Health Center, where she worked between 2009 and 2013. Following this accomplishment, Dr. Barudin-Carreiro established herself in private practice as a licensed mental health counselor.
Drawing on her considerable expertise, Dr. Barudin-Carreiro excels as a part-time faculty member, the director of fieldwork for the Counselor Education Department and a counselor education lab manager for Bridgewater State University. In her numerous roles, she oversees maintenance of the counseling lab, acts as the point person for all faculty concerns, works to resolve field placement concerns, conducts individual fieldwork planning meetings and more. In order to advance her skills, Dr. Barudin-Carreiro received a Doctor of Philosophy in exercise and health sciences from the University of Massachusetts Boston in 2020.
Dr. Barudin-Carreiro remains aware of ongoing changes in the field via her affiliations with the American Counseling Association, the Massachusetts Mental Health Counseling Association and her previous alignment with the New England Association of Sports Medicine. In conjunction with her work, she contributes as a committee member of the Massachusetts and Rhode Island Council Education Associations.
In light of her outstanding breadth of knowledge, Dr. Barudin-Carreiro has contributed to various grants, publications and presentations, including at the 2019 annual conference of the American College Counseling Association. For her professional accomplishments, she has also become a member of such honorable societies as Omicron Delta Kappa, Psi Chi, Golden Key International and Chi Sigma Alpha. Looking toward the future, Dr. Barudin-Carreiro intends to remain active with the University and in private practice.
