FAIRFIELD, CT, May 14, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Lisa Anne Luciano has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Ms. Luciano began her career as a teacher of television production, film and theater at Cathedral High School from 1978 to 1992. In addition to this role, she excelled as the director of the television studio, pioneering programs in educational media and technology. From 1993 to 1994, she taught English at Ardsley Middle School, then held a position as a TV production teacher at Tuckahoe Union Free School District from 1995 to 1997. Ms. Luciano was also a TV production/technology/English teacher and library media specialist in the Harrison Central School District from 1998 to 2020 during which time she was honored with the National Award for Excellence in Educational Programming.
Now retired from teaching after 40 years, Ms. Luciano is focusing on her writing career with Lisa Luciano Media. Her notable authored works include "Ready-To-Use Literature Activities for Grades 7-12: With Techniques and Ideas for Using Video in the Classroom," the award-winning novel, "The Chosen Ones" and "Generation L(OST) - Learning, Leveraging, and Living Lessons For A Successful Life". Additionally, she did investigative reporting for the New York Times between 1991 and 1994, writing articles pertaining to corruption in the sport of figure skating. Her work as both a teacher and journalist has inspired her blog and podcast titled "Not So Simple Truths." She is also a member of the Connecticut Authors and Publishers Association.
From an early age, Ms. Luciano had dreams of becoming an author. After a teacher in high school submitted her work to a national contest and she won, she was motivated to pursue a writing career and made it her mission to pay it forward and inspire other students in the same way that she had been inspired. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism, communications and media studies from Fordham University in 1978. Ms. Luciano subsequently earned a Master of Science in Secondary English Language Arts Education from Iona College in 1991.
Ms. Luciano was submitted for inclusion in Cengage's Who's Who of Authors in 2019. She attributes her success to her parents, who taught her to never give up and work as hard as possible to obtain what she wanted. Throughout her career, she has made the importance of having access to accurate information the foundation of her teaching and writings. Moreover, she is proud to have been a trailblazer in the area of media and technology with a focus on making those fields more accessible to young women, demonstrated by her creation of digital and information literacy programs for middle schoolers. Looking toward the future, Ms. Luciano will continue to write and utilize her blog and podcast to encourage children and adults to value and seek the truth.
