Previously, he gained valuable expertise in the field as the associate vice president and financial adviser for Ameriprise Financial Services Inc., where he worked between 2009 and 2013. During an earlier stage of his career, Mr. Clary served as a financial adviser for UBS Financial Services, where he developed considerable expertise in global wealth management, asset based lending and investment banking and as a district sales manager for Merck's Animal Health Division.
Before embarking upon his professional journey, Mr. Clary earned a Bachelor of Arts in history from the Virginia Military Institute in 1971. In order to remain aware of changes in the field, he aligns himself with the VMI Alumni Association and the VMI Keydet Club. He was Inducted into the Freedom Club and later inducted into the Director's Club. Alongside his work in the field, Mr. Clary also contributes to his community as a volunteer with St. Jude Children's Hospital and the Alzheimer's Association.
In a career that has been suffused with highlights, Mr. Clary is most proud to have embarked on a new career at the age of 52. Due to his outstanding body of work, he was inducted into the Freedom Club and later The Directors Club at LPL Financial LLC. He was named as a Five Star Professional Wealth Manager in 2014. Likewise, he won the Richmond Five Star Professional Wealth Manager Award in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2020 and recently nominated for 2021.
