CHIEFLAND, FL, May 19, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Victor Ricardo Doig has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Beginning in 2004, Mr. Doig has established himself as a fire management officer and prescribed fire specialist for the Lower Suwannee National Wildlife Refuge. He additionally serves as a prescribed fire specialist on behalf of the State of Florida Park Service. In addition, he also excelled as a division supervisor for the Southern Area Blue Team of Fire Management since 2006, and maintains his memberships as a steering committeeman on the North Florida Prescribed Fire Council. Previously, Mr. Doig garnered expertise with the Florida Division of Recreation and Parks and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
Mr. Doig is responsible for handling all fire management on behalf of North Florida complex refugees, as well as conducting prescribed fires, managing wildfire suppression and teaching classes on fire management and administration. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in wildlife ecology from the University of Florida in 1985, he subsequently obtained a Master of Arts in ecology from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey in 1987. Mr. Doig completed his education by earning a Master of Arts in wildlife management from North Carolina State University in 1989, and has since earned certification as a wildlife biologist by the Wildlife Society.
While attending high school, Mr. Doig was certain that he would study to become a dentist. While attending a pre-dental program, he was required to take classes in biology. Though he ultimately discovered an antipathy for dentistry, he found a passion for biology and resolved to pursue a career in the field. In accounting for his standout success, Mr. Doig credits the influence of his family, who imbued him with a strong work ethic.
Mr. Doig is honored to have been recognized as the 2019 and 2020 National Wildlife Refuge System Employee of the Year by the National Wildlife Refuge Association. Additionally, he was a recipient of the Firefighter of the Year Award in 2001. Looking toward the future, Mr. Doig aims to remain active in his profession.
